OVERVIEW

 

50 years after Z-Day, twenty people wake up to find themselves in a boarded-up building in the middle of the wasteland. They will soon realize they have been selected as contestants on a popular reality TV show: "Zombie Survival" 

 

Each contestant is given a backpack of supplies and a unique weapon. They have to race through the zombie-plagued city to the pick-up zone. Only one of them will be allowed to escape this cursed city, only one to survive this cruel popular show, one… in best scenario.

 

Adapted from Carlton Mellick III's book "Zombies & Shit" is a unique, turbo-charged twist on the Z genre where Battle Royale meets Return of the Living Dead. Giving rise to some heavily intertwined and complex character, this world behind the reality TV show provides a deeper dimension and context to the story with a strong rhythm of cuts between character flashbacks & cut-throat adventure. The rich backstories develops a vivid insight to who they are and often unexpected empathy, sometimes right before they’re destroyed by zombies, sometimes not… With a devastatingly simple but subversive plot, Carlton was inspired to create a Zombie story like no other. Fiendishly constructing an eclectic and highly combustible world of characters, Zombies and Shit is a campy, trashy, punk-rock gore-fest full of kitsch and outrageous modern references that is only suitable to a story such as this.

 

 

The series consists of 13 dense episodes, with potentially all 20 contestants deaths... Who is gonna survive this fucking game from the "select" casting mixing junkies, prostitutes, ex-military, cyborg, mercenaries, but also author, farmer, and many others unvoluntary, trained or not forthcoming victims... 

 

As funny as it is brutal, as twisted as it is touching, this adventure is truly unpredictable and attractive from start to end. Trailer may start soon. Production house is Mustfilms  based in Shanghai & LA, currently looking  for investors.
